Why You May Need Foam

You may think the uses of foam are fairly obvious. It’s in your mattress, sofa and you used to use it to help you learn to swim, right? Well although these are all correct, the truth is that there are a lot more uses for foam out there. And this is only the beginning.

Whether you want to entertain your children for an afternoon of arts and crafts or simply want to make a slightly different picture for yourself, the material can be cut into many different shapes to create a brilliant collage effect, especially when used with paints.

As you can create many different colours of the material, there are also people who use foam cut to size to decorate their homes. With all the different shapes and bright colours available why not give you house a different edge? Both memo boards and flooring tiles can work well made out of these brightly coloured squares, and add that little bit of difference to your home.

As well as being used to create shapes in a child’s painting, foam can also be used to create a marbled effect on top of your own walls. Simply paint your wall the base colour of your choice then, using a square or ball, ‘marble’ a different colour on top. Done well this can look really effective.

Finally, there are various other practical reasons why you may need this brilliant material around your home. It serves well as brilliant insulation, especially when split around pipes and even window cracks to keep the cold air out.Although you may not think much of this everyday material, there are many uses for it in and around the house, both fun and practical. After all, who doesn’t want a Christmas card with a snowman sponged on?
