Fit Antique Fireplaces and give your home a sense of character

One of the first things we noticed when we moved into our home was the Antique Fireplaces that were fitted in the property. The previous owner had the foresight to fit victorian fireplaces in the lounge and the dining room and they are focal features within their own right. Both the Antique Fireplaces have beautiful tiling inlaid within their design. They’re made from cast iron and it looks like the Antique Fireplaces are period features that might have come from a reclamation yard. The Antique Fireplaces are the perfect addition to our Victorian property and they work well with the other period features that are found within the dwelling. If the previous owner hadn’t fitted Antique Fireplaces I’m sure we would have installed them at some point in the future.

I know it’s a personal thing but I think period properties look so much better when they have Antique Fireplaces fitted. The interior of Victorian dwellings are enhanced with victorian fireplaces and the same can be said for Edwardian properties as well. Okay, you might not want to fit Antique Fireplaces in a trendy loft apartment that’s set in a prime waterfront location because they’d look out of place. In the right setting though Antique Fireplaces make such a vivid statement and they add to the character and the appeal of a period property. If I was renovating a period dwelling one of the first things I’d look for is Antique Fireplaces from a specialist source.

Reclamation yards are good places to find Antique Fireplaces. In fact, if you are doing up a period property a reclamation yard is like an Aladdin’s cave filled with all sorts of goodies. You find loads of period features in reclamation yards like cast iron radiators, covings and plenty of Antique Fireplaces as well. Plus there are specialist suppliers on the internet that sell Antique Fireplaces and they’re a good option if you want to restore a period dwelling back to its former glory. Visit www.oldfireplaces.co.uk for a terrific collection of fireplaces. They stock victorian fireplaces that have been restored to the highest standards and designed to give you many years of pleasure.
