    Calculations

It’s very important to get the calculations right when involved in bridge design. The calculations can be difficult, and certain people can struggle with this aspect of bridge design more than others. Things such as the length, width and other measurements should all be taken into account here. You can research information about designing calculations, and you can purchase sample plans to study.

    Spreadsheets

When designing a bridge, use spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel to your advantage. They are very useful and can help you keep everything in order much more easily than if you were using sheets of printer paper or even a Microsoft Word document. You can split all the different parts of information up into sections and also set it so that it can work out individual calculations for you, making the job a whole lot easier.

    Tutorials

Online tutorials are ideal for those who are keen to learn as much as possible from those who know more. If you’re already quite experienced, you may find that online tutorials are a little too basic. However, for those studying or recently qualified, tutorials are a great way to view how things should be done. Search YouTube for some good videos and choose those with the most views and highest ratings.
