E111 is the old name of the currently available EHIC or European Health Insurance Card. EHIC replaced E111 in 2006. Private medical centres are not involved in this regard. You can stay in the visiting country even if you are sick and need treatment. You don’t need to return to your home and get the delayed medical care. But if you intentionally want to get medical treatment in the visiting country, you won’t get it. Plus, it won’t provide you with remedies for certain health conditions like dental issues.
