Basic Things To Consider Before You Start Decorating

Whether you are going for a major internal overhaul market, or just want to update your home quickly and easily, you may have spent some time looking for ideas and inspiration online. That is to say, it can be frustrating to stumble upon the look you like just to find that the price you want to achieve is much higher than the budgeted price.

It’s all about you because it’s your house

    Define your style

How do you want the space to feel? Here’s a trick to perfect your style: take a look at your wardrobe. Do you prefer tailor-made clothes or prefer looser and more comfortable clothes? Are you leaning towards specific colours or patterns? Another way to help you define your style is to come up with keywords that define how you want the space to feel.

Look for design inspiration in every aspect of life. I often use them as a starting point for discussions with clients when hiring them to help design the interior of their homes. Think of a hotel you have been to or a restaurant where you had a dinner that you particularly liked. Perhaps it was a minimalist interior from a trip to Japan or a clubhouse in New York equipped with worn leather chairs.

Think about what you don’t like

People find it much easier to express what they don’t like. By introducing aversion into the equation, we can eliminate some things and narrow others down. For example, a large-scale bold print can remind you of something from your childhood that you don’t want to see in your own space. Or a chair with a backrest can bring back memories of being sent on break for tearing your sister by the hair. Likewise, a certain colour may evoke a feeling of a past design trend that you don’t want to repeat. These memories and reactions are very personal and individual, but also define our tastes.

    Start small, go big later

The basic Tips for home interior design ideas are that you start with small as the design can be overwhelming. People often want to know exactly where to start. For any room, I usually suggest starting from scratch: opt for a carpeted floor. It doesn’t matter if you want or have wooden floors, rugs, tiles, stone or wall-to-wall carpet. Thinking about your floor first will affect the arrangement of other elements in the space. If you choose a neutral shade or a natural fiber without much pattern or colour, you have more options with colours or upholstery. If you start with an antique rug, you can draw colours from the rug to formulate a colour palette. It is important to plan these things in tandem; otherwise the circus effect will end: too many things happen without space as a whole functioning in unison. Starting with a sofa or upholstered chairs, your style is immediately limited, there is more flexibility with something like a creative wall clocks  with dozens or even hundreds of possibilities, this is where you have options, and then you can start layering. or  try tapestries It is a much easier approach to first make the final decision to cover the floor and then lay the layer.
