Rope lights are an extremely versatile way of lighting any space, whether that is commercial or residential. However, despite the fact that they are so useful for so many different purposes, they remain one of the least talked about types of lighting solution. So why is this, and what exactly are rope lights?
Well, they get their name from the fact that resemble pieces of rope due to them being encased within flexible plastic. This means that not only are they long and thin like a piece of rope, but also very versatile and can in turn be used in many different ways. Whilst they can be used for simple outdoor lighting or as an addition to Christmas decorations, they can also simply be used in any interior setting too, adding accents to any specific areas you may need to.
Rope lighting is particularly useful outside though simply due to just how weather resistant the plastic casing makes them. On top of this, the fact they have such a slick outer casing, makes them a very attractive addition too, meaning that they become very subtle solutions as opposed to other such strips of lights which can not only easily tangle, but also be somewhat imposing.
But why is it that this type of lighting is not as well known as items such as fairy lights? Well, there is no conspiracy here, just a simple fact that they have not been around as long and it is taking people a longer time to realise just how useful they can be. With fairy lights and the like, people have been using them for many years and know exactly what they are getting, yet rope lighting is a somewhat unknown quantity. However, more and more people are discovering just how beneficial this type of lighting can be and it is only a matter of time before it is one of the most popular solutions for everyone
