These days, people suffering from emotional and psychological difficulties have a range of possible treatments at their disposal. One of these is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
This is based on the belief that all negative emotions are a disruption in the body’s natural energy system. Practitioners engage in EFT tapping, which involves tapping with their fingertips on a series of points located on the body that correspond to acupuncture points on individual’s energy meridians.
According to one expert, EFT techniques can clear blockages of energy and consequently alter people’s thought patterns. Writing on Patch.com, Amy Reissner revealed she uses the practices as a “form of energy healing” in her own life and with her patients. The specialist is a certified energy medicine practitioner.
She remarked: “I often combine EFT with energy medicine as I like to work on both the body and the psyche to remove energy blocks. It has been called ‘acupuncture for the emotions’. This technique works by tapping on acupressure points on the surface of the skin while focusing on negative thoughts, beliefs or emotions.
“As a result, the blocked energy is cleared and released due to the traumatic situations, whether from childhood or from our adult life.”Ms Reissner went on to say that the brain’s electrochemistry is “shifted quickly” and feelings of relief, joy, freedom and connection are experienced by patients as their energy systems are rebalanced. They leave feeling “replenished and returned to wholeness”, she concluded.
The demand for EFT tapping and other such treatments may be on the rise at present as a result of the stresses and strains people are coming under due to the economic problems affecting the UK and many other countries. According to Ms Reissner, situations such as sudden financial problems and job losses, or being turned down for a promotion, can cause individuals to experience energy problems.
